COMO BETO CARRERO MORREU?
How did Beto Carrero die? Beto Carrero was an artist, businessman, and icon of Brazilian culture. He is widely recognized for his cowboy performances and for being the creator of Beto Carrero World, the largest theme park in Latin America, located in Santa Catarina. João Batista Sérgio Murad was born on September 9, 1937, in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo. He was the son of Alexandre Murad, a Lebanese, and Floripes Murad, a Minas Gerais native. Like many families from the countryside, Beto Carrero's family was quite large; Alexandre and Floripes had 11 children. In his childhood, Beto had two major influences. The first was at home with his father Alexandre, who was excellent with animals, especially horses. Alexandre was known locally as "Alexandre Carrero" because he drove an oxcart that transported people and cargo. This is where Beto would take his stage name in the future. His second influence was the character Zorro, a popular culture figure known for his black suit, flowing cape, and distinctive hat. As a child, Beto was punished several times by his mother for tearing his clothes in an attempt to resemble the character. Although he always helped around the house, Beto Carrero managed to finish his high school education and then studied Accounting, the only program available in his city. Despite graduating with a degree in accounting, he never practiced the profession, choosing instead to pursue his dream of a career in the arts, inspired by the character Zorro and rural culture. His first attempt at success was when he launched himself as a country singer on the radio stations of São José do Rio Preto. His career as a singer was quite short, and he quickly realized that a career as a singer would be difficult to achieve. Already known on the city's radio station, Beto Carrero and the power of advertising. Once again, he uses the skills he acquired to create an authentic Brazilian cowboy. Once again, he achieves great success. With his success in the circus, his theme park business in Brazil grew. Upon returning to Brazil, Beto began planning how to launch his park. After years of planning, he chose the city of Penha, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, to house his venture. The partners didn't particularly like the choice of city, but Beto Carrero believed in the region's potential, as it was close to economically strong cities such as Blumenau, Joinville, and Balneário Camboriú. The park opened in December 1991. Initially, the park was still quite modest, featuring only circus performances, led by cowboy Beto Carrero, and a Ferris wheel. Over time, the park grew until it became the largest theme park in Latin America. In his final years, Beto Carrero saw the park in all its grandeur. With over 100 attractions spread across various themed areas, the park invites visitors to... Even with heart problems, he never stopped working and pursuing his ventures. In September 2007, the businessman underwent surgery to replace a heart valve. The surgery, despite its complexity, went well, and as soon as he recovered, he returned home to be with his family. In early 2008, after undergoing tests, doctors discovered that he would need another surgery to repair the valve he had inserted the previous year. The surgery took place at the Sírio-Libanês Hospital and was performed as an emergency. During the procedure, Beto Carreiro succumbed and died on the operating table. Beto Carreiro died on February 1, 2008, from cardiogenic shock. He was 70 years old. The businessman's wake took place at the Penha Parish Church in Santa Catarina, the city where his theme park is located. The church, with a capacity of about 500 people, quickly became too small to accommodate the crowd bidding farewell to Beto. Political authorities, businesspeople, artists, and various local personalities paid their last respects to Beto Carrero. The emotion was visible on the faces of those present, who gathered to remember the life and work of the visionary. After the wake, Beto Carrero's body was buried in the Penha Municipal Cemetery. Beto Carrero will always be remembered as a pioneer of entertainment in Brazil, a man who brought magic and joy to many, and whose life was a true saga of perseverance and the realization of dreams.
