Robin’s Babies & Brassica Beds - Allotment Vlog 11 - June 2026

This week has been a very busy one but we have made lots of progress on both plots. We start the video on plot two, building some brassica beds and planting out the purple sprouting broccoli, kale and Brussels sprouts. The mesh was a disaster but we have a new one arriving soon to complete the beds. 🥦 🥬 🦋 Next, we remove (hopefully) the last of the Ermine moth caterpillars from the large apple tree on plot one. There is a lot of leaf damage but the fruits are growing so hopefully it can now recover. 🐛 🦋 🍎 We also dig out a new bed on plot one and fill it with all manner of plants; dahlias grown from seed (I can’t wait to see what the flowers are like), sunflowers, beetroot, leeks and onions. It’s lovely having extra space and it makes me realise that I need to extend my beds as much as possible. 🌻 🌸 🧅 🫜 I have also been sowing some more salad type seeds and biennials for next year’s flowers; forget me nots (Victoria Mix), foxgloves (Pam’s Choice), wallflowers (Ruby Gem) and hollyhocks (unknown colour/s and Jet Black). Has anyone else started next year’s flowers yet? If so, what are you growing? 🌸🌱☺️ #allotment, #gardening, #raisedbedgardening, #horticulture, #moth, #moths, #fruittree, #brassica, #growyourownfood, #growyourown, #ukgarden, #ukbackgarden, #backgarden, #backgardenuk, #wildlife, #wildbirds, #ukbirds, #robin, #allotmentdiary, #allotmentgardening, #fruittrees, #ihavethisthingwithplants, #allotmentgardeninguk, #allotmentgarden, #growyourownvegetables, #gardeninguk, #ukgardening, #ukgardener, #fy, #fyp
