Gwendolyn Rogers opened her first The Cake Bake Shop in Indianapolis. Growing up with an appreciation for baking, her iconic sweet treats are award winning and world renowned. Her Indianapolis location often boosts of being booked out two months in advance and her Mint Chocolate Cake is even featured on Oprah's O List. 3 years ago, her Walt Disney World location began construction. Located at Disney's Boardwalk Resort and right outside Epcot, Gwendolyn Rogers' vision for this version of her restaurant and bakery is to be a place for patrons to celebrate and create everlasting memories. The interior definitely feels special with fine gold colored fixtures, gray accents and a clean white aesthetic that feels regal and whimsical. However, her pricing recently made headlines due to some of her signature dishes, like her Louisiana inspired Po Boy, costing upwards of $30 dollars. Some slices of cake can cost over $25 dollars and these high prices have left guests wondering if these items are high end or just high priced. We decided to find out for ourselves and went out to Disney's Boardwalk Resort during their soft opening to see everything they have to offer.
