Conversation of July 13, 2026 with Eduardo Leal da Cunha, a member of the Brazilian Space for Psychoanalytic Studies, the International Society for Psychoanalysis and Philosophy, and the Inter-American Network for Research in Psychoanalysis and Politics. Eduardo Leal Cunha, from Bahia, is a psychoanalyst and psychologist, holding a degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Bahia (1989), a master's degree in Psychoanalytic Theory from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1992), and a doctorate in Public Health from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2005). He completed a Senior Postdoctoral Fellowship at the École Doctorale Recherches en Psychanalyse et Psychopathologie de l'Université de Paris - Diderot (2015/2016) with financial support from CAPES and at the Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalytic Theory at UFRJ (2010/2011), also with financial support from CAPES (PROCAD/NF 2009 grant). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Sergipe, working in the Department of Psychology and the Postgraduate Program in Psychology. He is also an Associate Researcher at CRPMS (Centre de Recherches Psychanalyse, Médecine et Société) - Université de Paris Cité. He was a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Los Andes in May 2017 and at the University of Paris VII - Diderot, from October to December 2017. He has experience in the field of psychoanalysis with an emphasis on the relationships between clinic, culture and society, working mainly on the following themes: theoretical foundations of Freudian psychoanalysis; links between rationality, ethics and processes of subjectivation; psychoanalysis, sexuality and gender; psychoanalysis and politics; new forms of subjectivation and new affective bonds; articulations between psychoanalysis and the work of Michel Foucault. Among other publications, he has published, in 2004, 'Adultery in Ten Lessons', by Editora Planeta; in 2008, 'Psychology Between Individual and Society', together with Liliana da Escóssia, by Editora da UFS; in 2021, 'What to Learn from Trans Identities' by Editora Criação Humana; and also by that publisher, now in 2026, 'ANTI-MANUAL OF PSYCHOANALYSIS'.
