Americans In for a Filipino Food Surprise! Camiguin Island

What a great surprise! We were treated to a full Filipino meal to welcome us to Camiguin Island. The food was delicious with pansit and many other Filipino dishes. We are grateful to Villa Paraiso Resort to make such a great meal for us. We also enjoyed a great lunch at La Dolce Vita Italian Restaurant, which is directly across the street from the airport. We were hungry after our long day of travel and the pizza and specialty drinks hit the spot. After lunch, we went to see our room at the resort. Camiguin Island is a small island in Northern Mindanao, Philippines, and is a spectacular place to be. With its 14 volcanos covered in tropical greenery, its beautiful islands and beaches, from its spectacular waterfalls to the coral reefs, is why we say: "Camiguin, Isle Be There!" We are excited to spend a week on this beautiful island discovering every part of the island. In this video, we capture our journey from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila to the small Camiguin Airport. The only way to fly there is on Cebu Pacific from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy airport lounges in both Manila and Cebu which made the travel day so much better and easier for our kids. When we first caught sight of the incredible Camiguin Island, we were blown away instantly by the beauty. The large volcanos towering over the deep-blue ocean below create a picturesque sight. The land is so lush and full of coconut trees and the beaches and corals can easily be seen from the plane. It was exciting to fly over White Island (featured in our thumbnail) and Mantigue Island, knowing that we would be visiting both places this week. We can hardly wait for our adventures and to take you along with us.
