Two brutal muggers murdered a female Islamic teacher and gagged her mouth with a sock! A tragic fate befell a female Islamic teacher who taught at the Muraa'tul Lughah Islamic Boarding School in Martapura. The victim, H (25 years old), a resident of Bincau, Martapura, was found dead in a forest area in Sungai Ulin Village, Banjarbaru, on Wednesday evening (April 29, 2026). The victim had been reported missing since Tuesday afternoon by her family and relatives. When found, the victim was half-naked, with blunt force trauma to the head and a broken jaw. The victim's motorcycle was also found in the bushes not far from the body. Police officers who investigated the crime scene strongly suspected that H was the victim of robbery and murder. Following this incident, the South Kalimantan Macan Team and the Banjarbaru Police Mobile Brigade (Resmob) acted swiftly to investigate and seek information about the perpetrators. Based on information and evidence obtained by the team in the field, the perpetrators were identified as two plantation workers who lived nearby. The team subsequently arrested both perpetrators. Upon interrogation and presentation of the evidence, the perpetrators confessed to the robbery, which involved beating the victim to death with a wooden block and stealing his belongings. The perpetrators planned the robbery the following afternoon. The perpetrators had only been living in the hut/shack along the victim's daily route for a week. The perpetrators and the evidence were taken to the Banjarbaru Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings. The perpetrators are now charged with the most serious crime of theft with violence, where the robbery is committed by two or more people (jointly) and results in the victim's death.
