Pala Uppal MSc, BSc, M.Dip, C.Eng, MBCS, CITP, HCA from Garden of Arts CIC interviews Frances Yeung (PhD Researcher, Coventry University), who moved from Hong Kong to the UK during a period of significant political and social uncertainty in the region. Arriving in Britain as a teenager, Francis completed her education in the UK and built her life here. Francis is also a Senior Member of West Midlands Heritage Society. During the interview, Pala explores the challenges Francis faced in adapting to a new country, settling into British society, and establishing a sense of belonging. They also discuss how Francis has maintained and celebrated her Chinese heritage and cultural traditions while living in the UK. The conversation further examines the experiences of the next generation of Francis's family, looking at how her children have embraced British culture while remaining connected to their family roots.
