Preacher: Pastor Alexandre AMAZOU Theme: The Impact of a Life of Sacrifice (Vol. 7) Sub-theme: The Power of Approval - Part 2 Passages: Numbers 16:15 / Judges 13:21-23 Sacrifice is everything a person gives up for what they hope for. In other words, it is everything that leaves a person's life to enter the unseen realm. The goal of a sacrifice is personal well-being. Mark 9:7 Everything that God needs to approve, He has already approved in Jesus. Jesus is the perfect model of approval. Approval comes from God. Therefore, in everything we do, we must ensure that God approves. Indeed, our blessing depends on the approval of our sacrifices. Satan's battle is to ensure that, at some point, by pushing you toward disobedience, God no longer approves of you. Disobedience takes you out of God's sphere of influence. The strength of a child of God is therefore linked to their degree of obedience. Obedience grants them a share in God's glory and strength. Furthermore, the quality of the sacrifice that activates blessing in a person's life comes from their capacity for obedience. SOME IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTICS OF A SACRIFICE APPROVED BY GOD 1- The Uniqueness of the Sacrifice Matthew 1:1-8 2- The Rarity of the Sacrifice Revelation 5:1-4 3- The Quality of the Sacrifice John 3:16 4- The Cost of the Sacrifice Psalm 126:5 5- A Useful Sacrifice that Serves God's Purpose God has a clear agenda. And in our life of sacrifice, we must direct our sacrifices so that everything that comes from us is destined to fulfill God's purposes. The life of Jesus fulfilled God's purposes. 6- A Voluntary Sacrifice John 10:18 A sacrifice must be voluntary. Any sacrifice that is not voluntary will lack something. God wants a sacrifice that comes from us without coercion. That is why He created us with free will. We will be judged because we are responsible for our choices. When you see a man become great in his generation, it stems from his voluntary choices. Don't wait to be pushed or forced to do something before acting. Now is the time to rise up and act willingly. 7- A Sacrifice from the Heart Jeremiah 29:13 / Luke 16:15 It is not our searching that leads us to find God. For many seek God but do not find Him. When a person seeks God with a sincere heart, God Himself allows Himself to be found by that person. Any sacrifice that does not come from a sincere heart is not approved by God. God approves of the sincerity of the heart before the actions one takes. 8. A Sacrifice Made in Justice Matthew 5:23 Any sacrifice made in a position of unjustness is invalid. God does not approve of this type of sacrifice. For example, God does not approve of an offering obtained through theft. God does not approve of an offering from someone who is on bad terms with their neighbor. 9. A Sacrifice Questioned Matthew 27:39-44 A sacrifice that will be approved by God will always face opposition from the devil. Satan always opposes what pleases God. Jesus faced all kinds of opposition. Opposition can come from anywhere, from the devil as well as from a close relative. In fulfilling God's purposes, Satan will confront you. It is your capacity for obedience that will pave the way for you. 10- A spotless and unblemished sacrifice 1 Peter 1:19-20 A spotless and unblemished sacrifice is a sacrifice that adheres to certain standards. Everything we offer to God must absolutely meet certain standards. All these elements are important because God is not a man but a Spirit. Spirits have standards that are different from those of men. Spirits do not act on emotion but on principle. Therefore, God does not approve of our sacrifices based on emotion but only when all the aforementioned principles are respected.
