La ÚLTIMA VUELTA || Buscarril en Tornamesa Constitución

This is the turntable at Constitución station. For decades, this is where the direction of the Talca-Constitución railcar's cabs has been reversed. This traditional railway maneuver will soon cease to be performed regularly, as it will no longer be necessary for the new railcars on the line, since they are bidirectional. As a historical record, I share the following footage, which shows one of the last maneuvers at the Constitución turntable. Once the train is empty and on the station platform, the railway equipment is cleaned. Then, in the shunting area, after the cab and trailer car are uncoupled, the cab, designated ADM 255, reverses towards the turntable. Meanwhile, the trailer car, ADR 255, is pushed manually a few meters west of the track switch, where it will wait for its cab to be maneuvered. Having completed the previous steps, the ADM 255 begins its journey to the turntable, where railway personnel await to assist it during its turnaround. The turntable at Constitución station is manually operated, so the 180-degree turn is initiated by an operator. This same worker is responsible for stopping the movement once the rails and the turntable realign. It has now re-entered the main line of the branch line, where the trailer car awaits, to once again form the train that has operated on the Talca-Constitución branch line for decades.
