Quiet Morning Walk through Engyoji Mountain Temple | Himeji, Japan 4K

I love early morning autumn walks. This morning I visited Engyoji, a sprawling Buddhist temple complex in the forest atop Mt. Shosa in Himeji, Japan. The quiet forest setting and historic buildings are popular year round, but especially in the autumn when the leaves turn varying shades of red and yellow. I wanted to experience the temple before the crowds arrived on the first ropeway car at 8:30am, so I walked about an hour up from the base of the mountain.
