A fatal accident at the intersection of Jalan Raya Bungah claimed a victim. A container truck collided with a minibus and a building. The driver died at the scene. The evacuation of the minibus driver was dramatic. The red Suzuki Ertiga W 1743 CW was badly mangled. The truck, with license plate number L 9367 UX, was struck directly from behind by a container truck traveling north to south on a downhill road. The victim was identified as Sudiyono (60), a resident of Dukuh, Bungah Village, Bungah District. Gresik Police Traffic Chief, AKP Engkos Sarkosi, said one person was killed. The truck driver, Suwarno (44), from Widang, Tuban, suffered injuries. "The preliminary suspicion is that the truck experienced brake failure," said Engkos.
