The 48 half pans mean you'll have to do very little color mixing, so that makes this set very convenient for travel or painting en plein air. I am very impressed with the quality of the synthetic squirrel brushes, and will likely continue to use them. The watercolor paper, however, leaves much to be desired. The water brushes are of good quality, and I'm also likely to use them. The brightness of this palette, almost a neon brightness, really, is best suited for florals, tropical seascapes, or bright, joyful abstracts, in my opinion. This set would be a great gift for the bullet journalist, card maker, or watercolorist looking for a bright palette with no concern for lightfastness.
