GACORoof Firestone 50 year 100% Silicone used in historic restoration flat roof. Part of a series on restoration repairs of historic home. Guide to the installation of GACORoof a 100% Silicone roof coating by Firestone (previously GACO Western). The materials are warrantied for 50 years. GACO roof is not at all effected by ponding water which makes it ideal for older homes where the flat roofs typically settle and sag towards the rear. Firestone GACORoof's claims: "This is the last roof coating you will ever need." Since it can be recoated repairs or even mistakes can be easily rectified. There is little else that will stick to this 100% silicone roof but more of the same roof coating. This guide is broken into two 1/2 hour segments and I still didn't cover absolutely everything. Look for a future educational and instructional material. This is more geared to the professional with comments on details of how the GACORoof works, how to recognize the two main types of single ply modified. Some sections may seem to drag on but the purpose is to give the viewer a sense of actually applying the product. The roof was applied partial days over a three day period. Application of GACOWash and pressure washing was not covered. Make sure this is done per manufacturer's instructions. A short cut here might lead to unsatisfactory results.
