Once where there was industry there was dereliction. The idea of these Garden Festivals was to rejuvenate these areas Glasgow was one of the cities chosen and was made on land where ships were built. We did not get to see a lot of the displays as large areas were closed off for the Royal Visit. I ended up in a cordoned off area I could not get out of because I had waited in the shade in a place I walked into before the cordon was put up.
