Ave Maria, Florida is one of the most unique towns in the United States — a purpose-built, walkable community centered around a Catholic university, a stunning $24 million oratory, and a strong sense of faith, family, and community. In this video, I visit Ave Maria, FL, a town founded in 2005 by Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan, to see what life is really like here. With a population just over 6,000 (and growing), Ave Maria feels worlds away from typical Florida sprawl. I explore the town center, the Ave Maria Oratory, the university campus, and speak with students and residents about why they chose to live here. Is Ave Maria really the most Catholic town in Florida? Do you have to be Catholic to live here? Why are home prices so much lower than nearby Naples and Miami?
