He started as a DJ and during the years he did play in many famous clubs in Belgium, such as Cherrymoon, Extreme, Carat, La Rocca and Barocci for example. In 1991 he started producing and his first single was “Animals”, which became a big club hit in Belgium. The success of “Animals” led to DJ gigs at many big rave parties such as May Day, Energy, the Love Parade, Nature One, Trance Energy, Dance Valley, Gatecrasher, Tomorrowland and many others. For this week’s vlog I sat down with Yves Deruyter, to ask him about the story behind “Calling Earth”, a track which he released back in the year 1994. “Calling Earth” became one of his biggest classics and in 2024 it will celebrate its 30th anniversary!
