Forest of Dean Autumn Walk | Soudley Ponds via Blaize Bailey & Mallards Pike | Stunning Fall Colours

Join us for a stunning autumn walk in the Forest of Dean, following a circular (figure-of-eight) route from Soudley that showcases the season at its very best. This walk takes in Soudley Ponds, the impressive views from Blaize Bailey Viewpoint, the peaceful waters of Mallards Pike Lake, and the historic Findall Chimney — all surrounded by spectacular autumn colours throughout the forest. We begin in Soudley, where the golden leaves reflect beautifully in the still waters of the ponds, before climbing through woodland trails to Blaize Bailey. From the top, we’re rewarded with panoramic views across the Severn Estuary — a real highlight in autumn light. The route continues across to Mallards Pike Lake, where the trees put on a vivid display of golds, reds, and russets. Along the way, we also pass the atmospheric remains of Findall Chimney, a reminder of the area’s industrial past. This walk is perfect for lovers of forest walks, autumn scenery, and peaceful nature trails.
