Todays video is an FRV on route 248 from Romford Market to Cranham on the first ever Stagecoach London Scania Omnicity. The route is pretty good and I like the section after Upminster, it’s very fast and my driver was speeding lol. I would recommend doing this route, and if you want to do it with Stagecoach you have until September 2022. Quite unfortunate to see it go to Arriva. It’ll be weird seeing LTs in Upminster and Hornchurch lol. Route 248 started as a route from Cranham to Upminster using one Dennis Dart (older version) and later AEC Regals. In 1951 the route extended north from Upminster. In 1964 the route extended to Romford. The route had to be single deck due to a low bridge but there were reconstructions and Leyland Nations were replaced by Leyland Titans and route 248 was split with a new route 244 running from Upminster Park via Cranham to Romford, as route 248 which ran from Cranham via Upminster Park. On 24 September 1988 the route passed to Frontrunner South East. On 1 July 1989 the route passed to Ensignbus and on 4 June 1994 to Capital Citybus. Route 248 was included in the July 1998 sale of Capital Citybus to First London. On 29th September 2001 the route passed to Blue triangle (now go ahead) East Lancs introduced from Rainham (BE). On 27th Separate 2008 the route passed to East London (Stagecoach) using brand new Scania Omnicitys from Rainham (RM).
