Potential First Kings of the United States of America

Please consider supporting me at   / lindsayholiday   250 years ago, On July 4th, 1776, the Continental Congress signed the deceleration of Independence, officially breaking up with King George III of Great Britain. But what would the new government of the United states look like, and who would lead it? The majority of governments which had ever existed before had been monarchies. And when countries occasionally rose up to overthrow oppressive Kings, they just invited a different royal to rule them instead. The idea of electing a common man, void of royal blood to be the executive of the nation was radical. And what man, once in power, would peacefully vacate the office at the end of his term, and allow another to step in? Many argued that it would be safer, and more consistent to just select someone to launch a new American Dynasty.
