KINSHASA : LE MINISTRE TSHILUNGU DÉMOLIT UNE KERMESSE DANS LA MAISON COMMUNALE DE BANDAL

The provincial Minister of Infrastructure, Public Works, Land Affairs, Urban Planning, and Housing of Kinshasa, Alain Tshilungu, oversaw the demolition on Saturday, June 13, 2026, of a makeshift fairground that had even erected a fence made of durable materials, as well as several bars and a church built within the Bandalungwa town hall grounds. The objective of this operation was to restore order to this state-owned land, whose use had been diverted from its original purpose, exposing both residents and public officials to a situation of constant insecurity. This large-scale operation, carried out on the instructions of the Governor of Kinshasa, Daniel Bumba Lubaki, also aimed to put an end to the indescribable anarchy that had taken hold on this state-owned public land, which had been transformed into a parking lot, garages, markets, and various informal businesses, all under the watchful eye of the municipal authorities. This action, which has been welcomed by the public, is part of the "Return to Normalcy" campaign, initiated by the city authorities to restore urban order and promote a healthy environment in Kinshasa, in line with the vision of a modern capital city where life is good.
