小田原真鶴イカ祭り継続中!!
July 2026: This is a report on the excellent fishing season for false squid and Japanese flying squid departing from Odawara/Manazuru. This time, we departed from Makoto Ichimaru at Manazuru Port. The fishing grounds were around the waters off Manazuru. The small false squid have grown considerably, and the size of the squid being caught is now mainly false squid, with some Japanese flying squid mixed in. Perhaps their swimming speed has increased as they've grown? The squid are moving faster on many days. Since the squid are swimming around in the mid-water column, the target depth for the day is mid-water. This video focuses on depth setting, as requested by viewers who watched the previous video. The first half is the usual fishing video; those who want to see the explanation can start from 8:10. Other scenes include: 8 squid caught at 4:08; and the use of Oinori (the effectiveness is unknown…) after the squid are hooked at 5:37.
