I attached a 2x teleconverter to this lens and attempted some handheld bird photography, equivalent to a 600mm F5.6 focal length. How will its incredible lightness of approximately 1.5kg change the conventional wisdom of ultra-telephoto photography? And how does the image quality compare to my favorite zoom lens, the FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS?
