Exchange Rate and Net Exports
A strong dollar makes foreign goods relatively cheap and domestic goods relatively expensive, causing imports to rise and exports to drop (net export goes down). A weak dollar makes foreign goods relatively expensive and domestic goods relatively cheap, causing imports to drop and exports to rise (net export goes up).
