Andrew Manze discusses Vaughan Williams with Andrew Green
Andrew Manze is widely celebrated as one of the most stimulating and inspirational conductors of his generation. His extensive and scholarly knowledge of the repertoire, together with his boundless energy and warmth, mark him out. He has been Chief Conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie, Hannover, also Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, in which capacity he recorded all nine symphonies of Ralph Vaughan Williams. He discussed Vaughan Williams (and the symphonies in particular) with Andrew Green in 2025, shortly before conducting a series of Vaughan Williams concerts in Manchester with the Hallé. This is presented as one of a series of interviews made for The Ralph Vaughan Williams Society.
