In episode #21 of @vozesagrifatto, we welcome two very special guests: Chico and Ana Paula Boiada, managers of Fazenda Cigana, considered number 1 in rearing and fattening in the Fazenda Nota 10 project. During the episode, father and daughter share the succession story of the farm. Ana Paula grew up accompanying her father's work, who taught her about farm operations from an early age. When it came time to take the university entrance exam, she chose to follow in her father's footsteps in production, graduating in animal science. Today, Ana is an animal scientist and holds a master's degree in ruminant production. Chico Boiada, of humble origins, was born on a farm, the son of a dairy farmer and one of four siblings. He recalls that, at the age of 5, he was already accompanying his father in the milking work. At 11, the family decided to leave the farm where they worked and lease land. At 15, Chico went to study in the city, where he completed agricultural college. Soon after his studies, he was invited by his brother to set up a butcher shop. With the profits, he invested in buying calves and leasing land, eventually managing more than 20 leased areas. In 2003, he realized that management had become complex and opted to reduce the number of animals. With the capital, he acquired his own land, the Cigana Farm in Campestre, southern Minas Gerais. Throughout the episode, Chico and Ana Paula share the succession story, the pursuit of professional management, and the evolution of Fazenda Cigana to reach the number 1 spot as the most profitable farm on the "Fazenda Nota 10" program.
