Building Berry Beds - Spring Garden Preparation using salvaged wood

The first outside project of the year! Alaska is giving a long, slow spring that has pushed back many plans. We are starting off with a new garden area for berries to be planted. This is a low-cost, quick and easy log bed build. We are able to utilize logs found throughout our woods from trees that have fallen years ago. As we clean the woods and clear paths we have found a way to use those trees that are otherwise not even up to firewood quality. It is all our way of trying to use what we have and waste as little as possible.
