🔵 Interview with documentary photographer Oleksandr Glyadelov during the preparation of the photo exhibition “And I Saw” at the Ukrainian House. 🔵 Ukrainian House journalist Halyna Klyuchkovska spoke with Oleksandr as part of the Ukrainian House’s program series “Memory Keepers,” dedicated to artists of the older generation as creators of Ukraine’s cultural history and witnesses of socially important events. The project is aimed at forming national and cultural memory and a unified Ukrainian identity. 🔵 Oleksandr Glyadelov’s path in photography began with the creative photo association “Poglyad,” whose members were engaged in social documentary. This was followed by a series of works about street children, HIV-infected people, drug addicts, and prisoners of post-Soviet prisons, as well as documenting military conflicts. Among them are Transnistria, Karabakh, Chechnya, Donbas, and Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
