Another adventure in the Slovak Tatras. I started the day with a bus ride (for 2 euros) from Tatranská Lomnica to Tatranská Jaworzyna (the ride took about 40 minutes – about 30 km). Then I followed the green trail towards Jaworowa Valley (the town is so small that the trail branches off at the largest intersection). The plan was simple – I wanted to cross the main ridge of the Tatras, using the Lodowa Pass (interestingly, it's the highest pass in the entire Tatras, and is the destination of a given hiking trail). In my opinion, the Jaworowa Valley Trail is one of the few in the entire Tatras where I can feel the atmosphere of the Tatras I remember from my childhood (the 1990s). Why? The answer is simple. The type of trail is a narrow, wild forest path through a beautiful landscape (brushes against plants growing along the trail are common). The trail surface is usually just dirt – unfortunately, there's often standing water there, so shoes can get dirty. Secondly, it's very rarely used. In fact, I don't know who uses it more often: tourists wanting to reach Chata Teryho or mountaineers heading for the Jaworowy walls. And thirdly, perhaps the most important factor for me is sentiment – ​​I remember how, in my small turquoise backpack, I used to cross the wooden footbridges/fortifications that allowed crossing the tributaries of Jaworowy Stream. Basically, nothing has changed there over the years (well, maybe apart from the rebuilt bridges over the stream that were destroyed by the water). The Jaworowa Valley Trail is long, both in kilometers and time. There are no mountain huts on this trail, so you should bring all your equipment. The views are magnificent. The proximity of the Lodowe Szczyt peaks is impressive. A view of the highest lake in the entire Tatras is also guaranteed. Descending towards Chata Teryho, we see the wall through which the trail to Czerwona Ławka leads. This view is accompanied by the clattering of chains and the clasps of the tourists who had gone there that day. This trail then takes us to the second highest mountain hut in the Tatras (over 2,000 meters above sea level – we're talking about Terinka!). Descending through the Cold Water Valley, we can also admire the Cold Water Waterfalls – three viewpoints have been constructed to catch a glimpse of them. As you can see, there are plenty of attractions :) In my opinion, this is also an ideal trail for those who love mountain running! Route: https://mapa-turystyczna.pl/route?q=4...
