Govt unveils crackdown on disability benefits in bid to save £5 bn

After weeks of speculation, the Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall has laid out plans to cut five billion pounds from the rocketing welfare bill. But only the most severely disabled will be able to claim personal independence payments, and young people could be banned from claiming incapacity benefit.
