God’s River Lodge 2026

First time at God's River/Lake in 2024 was an amazing experience but I went by myself. This time I decided to take my daughter to experience the amazing brook trout fishery and hard to believe but true, northern pike private lake experience. In 4.5 days of fishing, we experienced catching around 20 brookies in the river, 8 qualifying as master (over 20 inches) with my daughter and I both boating 4 trophies each. She caught the biggest at 22 inches. I again made sure to sign us up for the amazing short flyout to their private lake, Semmens, where we caught and released 100 or so northern pike, almost all over 35 inches and certainly all over 30 inches with 7, yep 7 being trophy between 41" and 43.25" inches. The first was caught within the first 5 minutes and two were almost caught back to back. My daughter got her personal best at 43" as well. The lodge has a location like none other right at the mouth of the river/lake. There is another lodge on the lake but they can't boat to the river, only being accessible by a pricey flyout. Here you can fish the river any time you want and many of the trophy brookies were caught within 5 mins from the lodge. I again requested my previous guide David McKay and of course, he did not disappoint. He knows the river better than anyone and he took us all the way to the 40 mile marker. We were the first of the year to fish this incredibly remote location! We also caught some good walleye with the biggest being 26" and around 10 lakers but we really did not spend much time targeting them. Like my last visit, the lodge is comfortable with spacious cabins including satellite tv and good home cooked meals. I have taken close to 30 Canadian fishing trips and none come close to the fishing combined with incredibly reasonable pricing.
