I had launched at the public ramp behind the school and made the run through No Man's Land to get onto the beach where brown shrimp were running. A popping cork and double rig did the trick before the bite fizzled out and it was time to go looking for another great bite. And why not? The wind had laid down and it was a beautiful morning, making it easy to run anywhere I wanted and catch speckled trout. So I made the run across Grand Isle to Port Fourchon, where I was able to find a school of speckled trout that were unwilling to fully commit to a lure. Finicky fish? No problem! That's what I specialize in. With the aid of Humminbird electronics and years of experience throwing soft plastic lures I was able to polish off a limit of nice speckled trout.
