PROCESS with Cristina De Middel | Alexander McQueen Pre-Autumn/Winter 2022

Cristina de Middel is a documentary photographer and artist based in Bahia, Brazil. “Some walls are not political because they do not separate the people, they just create a new space that hides and eventually protects those who enter, but they can fall anytime. They do not exist beyond the need they cover. These walls (that are not borders) are domestic. They are the lines that define what is a house and a home, the territory traditionally assigned to the woman and a queendom that carries the weight of tradition without having signed for it. I always found it very disturbing the concept of a housewife because both house and wife are ideas linked to control and limitation.
