A drive through Barmouth

Tuesday September 7 2021 at 3.18. Barmouth is a popular seaside town of about 2,500 people at the northern end of the west coast of Wales. The drive took place on a hot day in term time. It starts in King Edward Street which then becomes the High Street in the town centre and passes St David's Church on the right. When the road starts to climb it is renamed Porkington Terrace as it leaves the town and heads east past rocky outcrops becoming Aberamffra Road. The first building on the right, Penrallt House, a classical 4 storey building with outstanding views was for sale for £450,000. The trip then restarts back at the end of the High Street and turns left into The Quay passing under the railway bridge. The road bends right passing Bath House Cafe and becomes the Promenade. After the main car parking area the first building on the right is the Lifeboat Station. At Beach Road we turn right towards the shops, go over the level crossing and pass the Original Barmouth Rock Shop. At the end we turn left on to the road we started on, the A496 King Edward Street, and climb back out of the town heading north.
