Diseño de Vigas | Cálculo del Momento de Diseño (φMn) Paso a Paso
In this third video of the Reinforced Concrete Beam Design course, you will learn how to calculate the nominal moment (Mn) and the design moment (φMn) by applying the strength reduction factor (φ). We will also determine the steel deformation, verify if the section is tension-controlled, and check that the steel area meets the minimum (Asmin) and maximum (Asmax) steel requirements. Finally, we will compare the design strength with the applied moment to verify if the beam is structurally adequate. An important note: Mn = φAs·fy(d − a/2).
