Community Dressing: Urk

‘Community Dressing’ is a documentary series about the Dutch National Costumes. Theodorus Johannes looks through the regional costumes to define the state of contemporary fashion consumption. By focusing on the almost disappeared Dutch costumes and its traditions, standards, values, creation and its passing, he offers a glance at the costumes compared to today's fashion system. By interviewing experts, craftsmen and wearers, he uncovers an answer to the following question; How has the current fashion system changed and / or stayed the same relative to costume dressing? The underlying purpose of the documentary series is to investigate questions that have recently been at stake about fashion. Questions like: What is fashion? What is the meaning of our clothing?
