Kizer Vanguard Evenki 1 - ein Azo-Design für draußen

Somehow, this year on this channel is developing a strong focus on fixed-blade knives – and today's featured knife fits right in. The Kizer Evenki 1* is a relatively small fixed blade designed by Kizer's in-house designer, Azo, intended as a (poultry) hunting knife, and it certainly looks the part. With a total length of just over 18 cm, this knife is only slightly longer than the "standard" length of around 16 cm – unless, of course, your trousers have deep pockets. With a blade length of 7.6 cm (7.4 cm of which is effectively sharp, very sharp), a blade thickness of 2.5 mm, and a weight of only 55 grams, the Evenki is certainly a viable EDC option, albeit with one caveat: the included Kydex sheath has an integrated shearing edge, and I wouldn't want to carry that in my pocket... However, the G10 handle has a good feel, the AEB-L blade steel, with a hardness of 60 HRC, offers solid performance, and Kizer includes an alternative belt clip and spare screws with the TecLock. All this for around 40 euros – definitely worth a look... The "1" already hints at it – there are two larger versions of this knife for those who really want to venture into the woods: the Evenki 2 with an 8.9 cm blade and the Evenki 3 with a substantial 11.5 cm. As always, this isn't an advertisement, just a description of my personal impressions. Enjoy the show!
