“Dixie’s Land” - Southern Confederate patriotic song

Disclaimer:This video is for educational purposes, this channel does not endorse or defend the Confederacy. Dixie’s Land is an American song published in 1860 with music and possibly lyrics from Dan Emmett in 1859. Dixie’s Land quickly became popular in the South, and was seen as a de facto anthem among other songs. The lyrics vary, some being more pro-Confederacy and others more satirical. The song was a favorite of Abraham Lincoln, who after the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia on April 10, 1865, requested it be played outside the White House to a crowd, because it had returned to being an American song.
