First Impression: Fujifilm X70

They've finally created a camera that actually goes head to head against the famous Ricoh GR. The GR has reigned as king of the compact APS-C sensored fixed focal length point and shoot for long enough. There's a new kid in town and it's called the Fujifilm X70. Being a 20 year fan of the Ricoh GR, I can tell you that this new X70 has come the closest to de-throning my beloved GR as my EDC (Every Day Carry) camera. Because this was an early pre-production I could not do a true comparison between the X70 and GR, but already I can tell that Fujifilm was serious when they built this little monster. The X70 has better high ISO performance, better AF speed and more accurate manual focus, better looking jpegs, quicker access to aperture and shutter speed, and a more versatile EVF. In fact, if you know the image quality of the Fujifilm X-T1, X-T10, X100T and the X-E2, then you will know what you can get from the new X70. The only difference would be the optics of the new 18.5mm f/2.8 lens.
