A while ago, I had the opportunity to try Spanish churros. During a trip to Madrid, I felt like people were following me around: "I don't know what this is, but I have to try it." :) It seemed to me that people were eating them in every cafe and in every city square, but because my schedule was tight, I didn't get my takeaway until late in the evening. And I have to say: they were worth the wait! Churros are Spanish doughnuts, but unlike ours, they're made with choux pastry – the kind used for cream puffs. Deep-fried and served with powdered sugar or melted chocolate, they're incredibly high in calories, but truly delicious, so it's probably worth taking a break. ;) In terms of effort, they're much quicker and easier than traditional Polish doughnuts.
