Alco PA's, and E8 powered D&H Adirondack passenger train in 1976,

The first clip was taken on the east shore of the Hudson River, and shows a north bound Amtrak E8 powered Adirondack. This is on the NYC Systems Water Level Route just north of the station at Peekskill NY. Starting with the second part in the clip, we watch a single D&H Alco PA, #18 leaving the Colonie shop area in Watervliet, NY. The D&H had four rebuilt PA-4's that started life as Santa Fe PA1 units. It will head over to back against an Amtrak dome car (which we don't see) to be placed on the north bound train. With only 3-1/2 minutes of film per cartage, it never fails to end at the most inopportune times. The dome car is taken off before it heads farther south because of clearance issues at Grand Central Terminal in New York City. We then head over to catch the train north bound, with Delaware and Hudson #18 leading, near Mechanicsville, NY. On another day, we catch the Adirondack with PA #17 leading. These clips where shot in 1976. This is from my collection of Super 8 sound movie camera I had taken in the 70's. Video, and sound quality is poor, not to mention, camera shake, but may interest some people. To have the films re-edited would cost a small fortune, as I have eleven 400' reels of film. Let me know what you think, and maybe I will edit more classic films from the 70's... This is an updated version of my other clip on the PA's with footage added, and the film restored and transfer to DVD. The quality is a little bit better than the original posting.
