In episode 136 of Whisky in SV, I blind tasted the latest Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (ECBP) release, B525, against two recent standouts: last year’s B524 and the much-debated C923. Going in, I had favored B524 over C923, but on this night the C923 stood head and shoulders above both, leaving B525 clearly in third place. That said, B525 is still a solid release and I suspect it may open up and improve with time. I wouldn’t recommend overpaying for it, but if you can snag it at SRP, it’s well worth adding to your shelf.
