Journée Innovation SOBAC : sol vivant, fourrages, autonomie et nouvelle gamme QUATERNA

Over 100 farmers gathered for a SOBAC innovation day dedicated to self-sufficiency, living soil, forage quality, and the technical and economic performance of farms. Held at the GAEC du Nouveau Pavillon farm in Fontaine-Couverte, this day allowed SOBAC's technical and sales teams from Western France to exchange ideas with farmers, both those already using SOBAC solutions and those who were not. The event was part of a field-based approach focused on livestock and arable farming, with a clear objective: to establish the link between soil, plants, and animals. The program included: comparative soil profiles, root development observation, the impact of fertilization practices on forage, livestock effluent management, forage preservation, and a presentation of the new QUATERNA range. The invitation itself presented the day as a meeting dedicated to agronomic innovations that optimize cereal and forage yields to improve farm margins. In the field, participants were able to observe firsthand the effects of living soil: root development, soil structure, compaction, biological activity, earthworms, and inter-horizon exchange. The day also provided an opportunity to compare different fertilization methods, particularly those related to the Bactériosol/Bacteriolit ecosystem, and to discuss forage quality up to its use in animal feed. The GAEC du Nouveau Pavillon is a mixed crop and livestock farm with 90 Holstein dairy cows, 40 Limousin beef cows, 120 young bulls, and 223 hectares of arable land. After eight years of partnership with SOBAC, the invitation highlighted several technical and economic results observed on the farm: +1600 L/ha of forage area, -10% in veterinary costs, -10% in feed for the young bulls, and an improvement in yields of +7 quintals. This day also marked the presentation of the new QUATERNA range, a SOBAC innovation designed for new field application methods. The dedicated workshop was led by Valentin Gardie, development engineer.
