Duncan Sheik on His New Album Claptrap, Looking Back on Spring Awakening, and Being a Dad
For more than 25 years, Duncan Sheik has been contributing his musical gifts to the world. His broad repertoire includes pop hits such as his 1996 Top 20, “Barely Breathing," and his musical smash Spring Awakening, which won eight Tony Awards and a Grammy. The practicing Buddhist dug deep into his faith for his latest Claptrap, his ninth studio album. It's his first solo project since the 2015 Legerdemain. It explores the concept of non-duality, which helped him deepen his own understanding of life. The artist and local New Yorker biked to the LifeMinute studios to tell us all about his latest music and what else he’s been up to, including his most important role as husband and dad to a 3-year-old daughter. This is a LifeMinute with Duncan Sheik.
