Day 26 of our 46-day European road trip, we spent a day in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, an artist's village in the South of France. We stroll through this vibrant fortified town, still retaining its medieval walls, and discover the unique artistic atmosphere of Saint-Paul, including Chagall's final resting place, the works of Theo Tobiasse, and the sunflower-shaped cobblestone streets. This small town of 3,500, with over 60 galleries and studios, and the stories of artists like Yves Montand, Édith Piaf, and Simone Signoret, vividly captures the sensibility of Saint-Paul from a traveler's perspective. We'll also share a look at the legendary Colombe d'Or, a reservation-only hotel, and travel tips for small towns in the South of France.
