Female Soldier Fights The Entire Government Just To Keep Her Dog | Megan Leavey Movie Recap
Megan Leavey is based on the true story of U.S. Marine Corporal Megan Leavey and her military working dog, Rex. After struggling with personal problems, Megan joins the Marines and is assigned to the K9 unit. There she is paired with Rex, an aggressive but highly skilled bomb-detection German Shepherd. Although their partnership begins with challenges, Megan and Rex develop an extraordinary bond. Together, they complete over 100 dangerous missions in Iraq, detecting explosives and saving countless lives. During one patrol, an IED explosion seriously injures both Megan and Rex. After returning home, Megan is honorably discharged but refuses to give up on Rex. She spends years fighting to adopt him after his retirement, leading to an emotional reunion that highlights the loyalty between a soldier and her military dog.
