Foraging For Spring Edibles | Can You Eat Wild Parsnip And Harvesting And Cooking Tips The big question is can you eat wild parsnip? Spring is progressing and this time we are in the garden but not harvesting something we grew specifically but rather harvesting something that is usually considered a weed and that's Wild parsnip. So hopefully you enjoy this bit of foraging at home and using things that are otherwise considered a weed as food. Thanks for watching! Chris and Steph WARNING anyone harvesting or working around parsnip both wild or domestic should use caution as the plant does contain a substance which can cause burn like dermatitis when the plants juices get on your skin and react with sunlight. Recipe: oil for frying or 2 tbsp to toss fries before baking 1 1/2 tsp oregano crushed 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 3/4 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper fry parsnip fries first then toss in seasoning or toss all ingredients and bake in oven at 400 degrees till browned.
