Special Protracted Prayer (Luke 6:12) - Charles Spurgeon Sermon

A sermon delivered by C. H. Spurgeon, Lord's day morning, March 1st 1868. At the Metropolitan Tabernacle there were daily meetings every morning and evening to pray. Also there were two services every Lord’s day, and a Monday evening prayer meeting. This was followed every Thursday by an evening service with a Sermon. As we read the gospels, we notice that many times the Saviour devoted Himself to prayer. At the end of John seven (verse 53), and first verse of chapter eight, we see a distinct contrast between most folks and the Lord. Jesus loved to have time alone with His Father. Sometimes we watch the clock and briefly pour out a few requests to God. Yet here Spurgeon shows us the supreme value of unhurried, earnest prayer.
