The four key people behind this car were all in their early twenties when the Miura debuted: Giampaolo Dallara - 29, Lead Engineer Paolo Stanzani - 29, Assistant Engineer Bob Wallace - 27, Chief Development Engineer Marcello Gandini - 27, Designer The Miura used Bizzarrini's 4.0-liter V12, originally developed for the 350GT and 400GT. It was rotated 90° and mounted transversely, forming a single unit with the gearbox and differential. Power claims varied widely, but the Road & Track test car delivered these figures: 0-60 mph – 5.5 seconds Quarter mile – 13.9 seconds at 107.5 mph Top speed – 168 mph At the time, this made the Miura the fastest production car in the world.
