Matilda Lutz & Coralie Fargeat on women fighting back in Revenge - Exclusive Interview
Alasdair Bayman from HeyUGuys talks to director Coralie Fargeat and lead actress Matilda Lutz for their blistering new grindhouse inspired feminist revenge film called... Revenge. Supported by Kevin Janssens, Vincent Colombe and Guillaume Bouchède the violent film explores the brutal revenge enacted by a women who is brutally attacked and left for dead by her boyfriend and his friends. Fargeat talks about subverting the expectations of the revenge movie genre and how she enjoyed taking what was initially a weak character and turning her into a superhero. Lutz talks about the instinctive nature of her character, who leads the film throughout. As well as Kill Bill the director talks about the unreal nature of South Korean cinema, down to the colours and emotions expressed, and communicating the message of the film through the visuals including the blood and gore.
