Death penalty law for Palestinian prisoners takes effect

Israeli media is reporting that the death penalty law for Palestinian prisoners in the occupied West Bank has come into effect. It follows a military order signed by an Israeli commander, backed by legislation passed through the parliament in March. In cases involving attacks that result in deaths of Israelis, the military order requires courts to impose the death penalty as the only available sentence.
